A Quick Round Of Fussing
I know in the back of my mind that I’ll eventually have to go back to an orthopedic surgeon. The original doctor that did all of the work is very skilled, but the location of his practice requires an hour-long journey round trip. Part of that time even involves higher speed highway driving. Yeah, the distance thing is unfavorable. Unfortunately, he is also a very poor communicator. I’ve been to a second doctor that is located just a few minutes drive from my house, has a great reputation, and was an excellent communicator when speaking to me about every aspect of my needs. I like the communicator, but I appreciate the work done by the original guy and trust him. Hmm, what to do, what to do.
The key to all of this involves health insurance. I have been advised to wait as long as possible (wait until it involves serious quality of life issues, I was told). The problem is that I need to get the work done while I still have insurance coverage. I am insured through my wife’s work, and the coverage includes full medical, dental, and vision. More importantly, it also includes supplemental insurance which covers a great deal of my deductibles. Timing is everything, and I have to be certain to get things taken care of while my wife still has her current job. Man, I hope that she doesn’t quit one day while I’m not paying attention.I keep seeing a very slow deterioration of my leg’s condition, and I sort of just take it month by month. The problem is that things continue to get worse. This whole accident injuries stuff can be a drag. Maybe I’ll just try to ignore it all for a while.
